The technique of making animals by wrapping the object in cloth with no sewing. It’s more like Origami paper; combined ancient tradition with California flair. But unlike paper, the best part is that it’s reusable.

How to make Duck using Square of Fabric

A fun way to make a duckling using a square piece of fabric, elastic band, and something to wrap . Not only for gift wrap but also for Home décor for kids.

How to make duck craft without sewing[/caption]

Degree of wrapping difficulty:★★★ (Soft cloth like silk type,  might be hard to form beak shape.)

■ Materials

・Napkin size cloth (Cotton cloth is preferred)
・Hair elastic band 
・Ribbon 
・Gift box (or wrapping item, such as plastic container, can, round box, etc.)

■Instruction

Step 1.  Spread cloth flat diagonally and place gift.
1”-2” closer to corner #4.

Step 2. Gather corners #1, #2 & #3 into elastic band. (#2 will be the longest.)

Leave the corner close to gift and grasp other three corners in one hand and tie them with elastic band.

Step 3. Knot corner #4 to form tail.

Step 4. Put corners #1 & #3 together to form beak.

Step 5. Then fold #2 over #1 & #3 and tuck tip into the band to form head.

Step 6. Tie with ribbon.

Degree of wrapping difficulty:★★ (Depend on fabric, The thinner fabric is more suitable for shaping the beak, compared to the Part 1.)
■ Materials

  • Napkin size cloth (The duck shown here is  made from children’s yellow bandana.)
  • Hair elestic
  • Ribbon
  • Mango (or any round shape)
  • For eyes, stickers such as Rhinestone or googly eyes

■ Instruction
Step 1. Repeat steps 1-3 of “Duck 1” above.
Step 2. Pick two middle length’s corners and smooth out.
Step 3. Pull one of those two corners and fold sides into the middle. Tuck tip into the elastic band. (It is going to be the beak.)
Step 4. Repeat Step3 with the other corner.
Step 5. Pull the longest corner and wrap and twist around the beak to foam face, and tuck tip under the elastic band.
Step 6. Tie with ribbon.
