How to wrap a gift with fabric
How to wrap a gift in fabric and make a rose at the same time
Total Time: 3 minutes
Step 1
Spread cloth flat and place a gift in center diagonally. Gather all four corners and tie with an elastic.
Step 2
Pull up all corners. Pick up one corner. (If corners have different lengths, pick longer one.)
Step 3
Wrap cloth around your finger, from tip inward.
Step 4
Slip rose off finger (thick part down); tuck tip under the elastic band (in center or at side).
Step 5
Wrap one of other corners around the rose bud, while twisting a few times. Tuck the tip under the elastic for petals.
Step 6
Repeat Step 5 for the remaining corners and your fabric gift wrap with rose shape is completed!
Or Design with two roses and leaves
Instead of Step 5 (wrapping other corners around the rose bud),
Repeat Step 3 and 4 to make other rose buds, or leave some corners as leaves and tie with ribbon.

■ Materials
- Napkin size cloth
- An elastic hair band
- Ribbon
- Gift (round food containers, such as jam jar, nuts jar, and round tin can would work wellbottle and can are suitable.)
■Instruction
1. Spread a cloth flat and place gift in center.
2. Grasp all four corners and tie with the elastic band. (Step 1-5 of Basic Wrap.)
3. Pull up the two corners, put the two pieces together, fold sides into the center, and tuck the corner ends into the center of the band.
4. Repeat the process for other two corners.
5. Tie with ribbon.
Variations of Heart Gift Wrapping
Heart gift wrapping without ribbon
- Wrap the gift by folding in one corner of the fabric.
- Grab three corners and tying them together with an elastic.
- Use two corners to form a heart shape
- Instead of ribbon, wrap the remaining corners around the heart and tuck the ends inside the elastic.
