Butterfly theme birthday Gift Wrap Part 1

How to make butterfly for gift wrapping easy with fabric

Total Time: 3 minutes

Step 1

Spread the cloth flat and place the gift in the center diagonally.

Step 2

Fold the bottom corner (#3) over the gift and tuck it underneath. Then fold over the top corner (#1).

Step 3

Take the left and right corners and double tie them with the elastic.

Step 4

Push the tips of the two corners into the center and tuck them into the elastic.

Step 5

Take the corner of 1, fold it in thirds and make it thinner.

Step 6

Rotate the gift halfway, fold the corner (#1) toward you.

Step 7

Tuck the end into one loop of elastic to make the abdomen of the butterfly.

Step 8

Press the middle of the corners (#2 and #4) from both sides to form wings.

Step 9

(Optional)
Place a little ornament for antennae.

Supplementary information

• Fabric: Crisp fabrics such as cotton are more suitable for forming butterfly wings than fabrics such as silk.
• If the fabric is not stretchy, fold the sides of each corner to smooth the corners of the gift before folding the left and right corners in step 3 above.

Here is another way of making butterfly gift wrapping, as easy as the butterfly above.

Materials

• Thin napkin
• Hair elastic
• Thin ribbon (The ribbon in the photo is Italian Cotton Ribbon, 1/4 inch)

Wrapping Steps

1. Fold the corner of 1 in half inward as in step 2 above. (This way, you can also insert a card).
2. Skip the steps 5-7, leave about 2 inches of the ribbon end (for the antenna) and wrap the ribbon around the center of the wings to form the abdomen.
   (The center is wrapped with ribbon not only to create the abdomen of the butterfly, but also to secure the wrapping.)
3. Then double knot both ends of the ribbon.
4. Press the middle of the wings from both sides to form wings.
